Geopark West Jutland has been included on UNESCO's list of Global Geoparks.
The inclusion on UNESCO's list of Global Geoparks is a recognition of the area's landscape values with world - class geology, magnificent nature and accounts of how humans have settled in this area, which is characterized by strong natural forces.
The geo-park shows some of the places that tell the story of how our landscapes have been formed and changed during millions of years.
At the same time, the geopark tells about how nature and man have adapted to the conditions after the last ice age.
