Kronheden Plantation
The plantation, which is situated on Skovbjerg hill island, is very special because of the inland dunes, which have been created (during the last Ice Age) because of the west wind, which has created these tall sand hills and powerful windbreaks. Today the inland dunes are overgrown with heather, mountain pine and plantation.
Kronhede school camp is situated in the middle of the plantation. Nearby is a garden. Here you find "The Stone of History" made by Alfred Kåe (1891-1973) in 1938. The stone tells in a simple figurative language the history of Denmark together with the Nordic mythology.
