Water Work
The Water Work was intended to be a symbol of a northern city gate. It was part of a larger project that unfortunately became too expensive and the collaboration ended after the Water Work was done.
The Water Work is one of the most characteristic works of art in Holstebro. The charateristic work was created by professor Helge Bertram as ordered by Holstebro Community. The water art consists of two parallel walls, build in the water bassin in the northern part of Nørregade. The pale turkis colour is due to a row of experiments with glaze and technique of burning. You will recognize the colour in one of the other works of Helge Bertram, the decoration of The Old Swimminghall in Holstebro, which has now been converted into Døesvejens Fritidscenter, a centre for young people.
